According to a report from KCTV5, Platte County and the Missouri State Tax Commission have reached an agreement: residential property assessments will rise by 6.835% over 2024 levels—significantly lower than the originally proposed 15% hike.
Commissioner Scott Fricker called the deal “a clear victory for Platte County taxpayers,” noting it better aligns with actual home price growth—about 7.75% from 2019 to 2024—and eases the financial burden on homeowners. Fricker emphasized the need for reform, signaling plans to work with state leaders to create a fairer, more predictable tax assessment system in Missouri.
We'd love to know what you think about the outcome.
